Jeon makes ENR Southeast’s Top 20 under 40 list

Engineering News Record Southeast has named alumna Christy Jeon to its Top 20 under 40 for 2015.

The list recognizes talented up-and-comers in the Southeast who are leaders in the industry.

Jeon earned her Ph.D. from the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2007, studying with Adjo Amekudzi-Kennedy. She’s now a traffic engineer and planner with Parsons in Norcross, Georgia.

Parsons is pleased to announce that Christy Mihyeon Jeon, a traffic engineer in Parsons’ Road & Highway Division, has been named as a winner of the Engineering News-Record Southeast (ENR Southeast) Top 20 Under 40 competition.

Ms. Jeon joined Parsons in 2008, and she has more than 13 years of combined experience in research and practice. As a traffic engineer and transportation planner, she has been responsible for all aspects of traffic engineering studies, planning studies, traffic simulations, and preparation of signing and marking plans and traffic signal design.

“We congratulate Christy on being named one of the Top 20 Under 40 by ENR Southeast,” said Todd Wager, Parsons Group President. “She is a recognized researcher in the area of transportation system sustainability, and she has an outstanding reputation among senior engineers for her strong commitment to completing her assignments on time and with the utmost diligence.”

Ms. Jeon is a registered professional engineer, and she holds a bachelor’s degree in urban planning and engineering from Yonsei University in South Korea, as well as both a master’s degree and a doctorate degree in civil and environmental engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. In her free time, she participates in the Transportation Research Board as well as numerous other professional organizations.

ENR Southeast’s Top 20 Under 40 winners were chosen based on their work experience, industry leadership activities, improvements to the built environment, and service to the community.
