Arson earns tenure, promotion to associate professor

Chloe Arson becomes an associate professor with tenure, effective August 15.

Georgia Tech President G.P. “Bud” Peterson recommended the promotion and awarding Arson tenure a few weeks ago.

Arson has been a member of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering faculty since 2012, where she studies damage and healing mechanics in rocks.

Earlier this year, she won a National Science Foundation Early Career Development award to support her efforts in the coming years. She also recently attended the Frontiers of Engineering Education Symposium, an invitation-only gathering of scholars from around the world.
