When the economy tanked in 2009, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering alumna Anna Shmukler decided to retire from engineering and start a new business.

Now she’s reinvented herself, running a promotional advertising franchise in Roswell, Georgia, just north of Atlanta. This comes after years of owning an engineering and surveying company.

Entrepreneur Magazine featured Shmukler, B.S. 1989, in early January, asking her why the career shift and franchising a business made sense.
