Sheng Dai Earns Tenure

Assistant Professor Sheng Dai has earned tenure at Georgia Tech and been promoted to associate professor, effective in August.

Dai joined the faculty of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2015, serving as an assistant professor in geosystems engineering. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering at Tongji University in China, as well as a master’s degree and PhD in civil engineering at Georgia Tech. After graduation, he worked in the Predictive Geosciences Division at the National Energy Technology Laboratory of the U.S. Department of Energy before returning to Georgia Tech to join the faculty.

Earlier this year, Dai won a National Science Foundation CAREER Award for his research focusing on the use of active particles to alter the flow of fluids through porous media.
